Artist Statement

When painting I loose myself to the subject and the invisible realm of time, like the feeling I do not exist, but time exists in my painting and me. I am the medium between the subject and the painting and hope to convey those emotions and moments to the viewer for a while longer.
The enthusiasm to paint plein-air like the impressionist is fueled by my classical training in drawing and color theory and my craze for nature and the outdoor, which becomes more and more precious to me. I feel united with Vincent Van Gough’s quote:
“I dream of painting and then I paint dreaming”!
